“And you will seek me and find me when you search for Me with all your heart” – Jeremiah 29:13
When I think about my life, I have to ask myself, am I seeking Jesus? Is this a burning ambition in my everyday life or just occasionally? Do you and I get inspired and challenged on Sunday morning during the worship service to seek His guidance, but by Thursday we are running on empty. I believe this happens because we do not continually make Him, the number one priority in our lives. We let the pressures of our everyday lives creep into our hearts and minds, that take the place of God’s blessings and peace that He has graciously promised us, when we accepted Him as our loving savior. God gives us an open invitation to seek Him and develop an amazing relationship with Him without question. He gives us an open invitation to enter into His presence and seek his will anytime. His door is wide open for us to enter and enjoy His grace and mercy, but often we just don’t choose to do so. Isaiah 55:6 tells us…” Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.”
As I think about my life and maybe this is true in yours, when we live in good times, we can easily forget about God, while indulging ourselves in earthly pleasures. While experiencing bad times we lose sight of God while filling ourselves with self-pity. In either of these cases, we are not seeking Gods plan for our lives. May God have mercy on us, refocus us and direct us back to seeking His way when we go astray. I know that my prayer and my deep-down desire is to always seek you everywhere, under any circumstance.
Let us pray. You know us by name, and you know the desires of our hearts. Open our eyes, open our hearts that we may seek for your glorious light in our darkness. By the Holy Spirit, empower us to continue to be the people who seek after you at all times. We pray this in your name, Jesus Christ. Amen
