Registration is open for Summer Youth Events at Lake Junaluska. The events are an incredible opportunity for youth to grow in faith, friendship and community, all while surrounded by the beauty of the Western North Carolina mountains.
The events are planned with
feedback from a youth ministry advisory team of United Methodist clergy and laity and directed by Rev. Mitzi Johnson, an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church. Each event is steeped in Wesleyan theology and offers morning and evening sessions with high energy worship, guest preachers, and optional mission projects.
During each three or four-day event, youth have afternoons free to explore the area. Lake Junaluska has partnered with Asheville Youth Mission, which allows groups the option to do an off-site mission project in the Asheville area for a nominal fee. Youth can also go ziplining or rafting, or simply stay on property and enjoy paddle boarding, slip-and-slide kickball or other recreation at Lake Junaluska.
Lake Junaluska recently received nearly $400,000 in charitable gifts to upgrade youth housing! Renovations begin this spring to Mountainview and the Lake Junaluska Apartments, two of the buildings where youth most often stay.
Events are open to church youth groups of all sizes, grades 6-12.
